    Hey, a hit!
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

JHJ grounds a single to CF to start the 3rd, so the no-hitter is by the wayside...

    Hanigan up.

Nine in a row for Arroyo since the nasty start to the game.

    2-0 Cards middle of 3.

Bad first innings damage our ability to keep things in perspective.

Well, first innings also on occasion lose games for this team. There is not much margin for error today..

Hanigan bloops a hit to RF, runners at first and second, Arroyo up with no outs.

Arroyo does his job, geting a perfect bunt down, and moves the runners along.

JHJ at third, Hanigan at second, one out.

    C'mon, Dickerson.

Superb bunt by Arroyo there; wouldn't mind having him take a slug bunt there though.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

    Nice bunt by Arroyo

Yes, I don't like the trend of a bad first inning, pitching sharp for a while, then leaving in trouble.

Rooting for a wild pitch right here.

Man, reds, really needed to push across at least one there. Frustrating.

Dickerson pops up and fails to get the runner on third home but he also spoiled a couple of excellent pitches.... Carpenter wins but Dickerson did a good job...

Two CF in the line-up leave 'em on 2nd and 3rd.
