At least Arroyo won't be asked to pitch against the Phillies in Philly. Against those lefties in that park, the way he is throwing now, well, it probably would not be a pleasing result for Reds fans.

Votto up, Brantley says he is trying to get back in the groove. Not sure what that might be, Votto has been nails for two weeks now.

The Reds can survive without Arroyo, easily. They have Owings, Harang, Bailey, Cueto. They have Volquez rehabbing. They have Maloney and Lehr as stop gap help for a few games here and there, if necessary.

Arroyo is giving them nothing, his ERA is unacceptable. Hopefully, some GM will see something in him and take him off the Reds' hands.

It's not that difficult to replace a guy whose ERA is near six.

As if this is. The Reds should have have just played the bench today and given everyone a rest with Arroyo pitching like he is. It seems to happen in the middle of the season every year for him.

    Phillips BBs.

    Nice.

Could use a big fly from Bruce here...

It's odd how we figure that Arroyo is a big bag of nothingness, but we hope some other GM will take him.

Phillips runs, Bruce swings and missed for a K. Phillips thrown out at second.

    Inning over.

That's the opposite of what I wanted.

    4-0 after 4.

Typical result. Why I care is a mystery.

Don't rob people of their hopes and dreams. And don't underestimate that some other team might hope that their pitching coach could redeem him...At least give us that. Please, at least that. Hope is a fleeting thing.

    Everybody's stupid but us?
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Schumaker opens the 5th with a single, and the beat goes on.

Now Tavares can't catch fly balls?
