This team is a train wreck.

Back to .500 going into 7 games at Philly and at New York?

    Could be curtains.

Typical EE - makes a nice pickup on a tough ball.... and then throws it wide.

Arroyo is really the only glaring, guaranteed, lead-pipe cinch loss in the rotation.

Arroyo's next start is in NY. Fences way back there, right? Perhaps that will help.

The Reds are not as bad as they appear today, but they're not that good either. They need major leaguers in the outfield, at third and shortstop. They don't have these and until the franchise realizes that baeball is played in both halves of the inning, then this is what you get.

Base hit to LF for Molina, runners at first and third, still one out.

    Joe Thurston up.

Charge that 8th run to CDick for not holding the runner on his errant throw in

I get the distinct impression he is indeed not giving max effort on these pitches at the moment.

8-0 Cards mid of five after Carpenter flies out.

Thanks for the perspective. Marty and Jeff are lobbying for an error on EE for not catching it. Can't really tell what happened.

Regardless, it sounded less than ideal.

    Reds:

Quest for a rather improbable nine run comeback commences...
