Reds are now 10th in the NL in runs allowed.

Don't let my previous comment about Pythagoras taking one to the chin steer you wrong, my feelings on this game are no different than if it was a 2-1 loss. Because it was just that, a single loss. However, beatings like these are an indicator of something greater. As it stands now, the Reds are 4 wins over their Pythagorean win total. Not good...

A week before the All-Star break is no time to panic. The bleeding can stop but the Reds need to establish an inflection point in performance soon if there's hope for October.
What if this wasn't a rhetorical question?

All models are wrong. Some of them are useful.

The Reds need to have a boat full of talent waiting for them when they return from the AS break. At least one TOR starter, one big time bat, and one guy who can man third.

I thought Ryan Dempster started that game.
Eric Stratton, Rush Chairman. Damn glad to meet ya.

But before that game they were what, about a game over? I understand the diagnostic benefit of Pyth., but I think using it to make a diagnosis immediately following a loss of historic proportions is stretching the application of the principle.
