Thats not what I said. I said two Bats have been discussed in a potential trade. Big difference.

Valaika singled to begin the second inning but was erased on a Corky Miller doubleplay. Stubbs singled again, he's 2-for-2.

Any more rumblings on this or has it faded like most trade talk does in baseball?

Haven't heard anything else about it, but I only first heard about it yesterday. Yes, I know the players involved but no, I am not posting them here.

Could these players bring anything of sustance back our way alone or do you think they may be packaged with some major league Reds.

Re: Thursday 7/9/09 minor league updates

Kip Wells is warming in the Bats pen.

Who was the old Reds guy? Kip Stone?

edit: oh yeah, Bats up 2-1 on a Mudhen HR and Pettyjohn finishes 5 innings

    Code:
Player IP	H	R	ER	BB	SO	HR	ERA
    Pettyjohn 5.0	3	1	1	3	3	1	5.12

No, I seem to remember a pitcher named Kip on the Reds. Maybe early 80s?

It may just be brain cells getting short circuited.

edit : It was Kip Gross, wrong era though
