ESPN is probably begging to have him put in. He's already kind of a media darling for them after the WBC.

Hopefully Reckling blows this so we get a chance of seeing Juan.

So not only is Sulbaran in the Texas League.... but his 5.36 ERA also ranks in the top 5 in the league. Fantastic.

We also apparently just acquired Daryl Jones (he plays for the Cardinals but they just had a Reds logo next to his stats).

JCS is probably going to be pretty good if he gets that control under control. He missed way wide twice, but every other pitch was just barely off the plate really.

Sulbaran has great stuff but his control is below average right now. Then again, he's only 19 years old and most 19 year olds struggle with control.

Kevin Goldstein had little tidbits on each prospect that played in the Futures Game.

    On Heisey:

Has turned himself into a very real prospect. Scouts say he is the real deal.

    On Sulbaran:

Struggled with command but has plus fastball/curve combo.

    Sulburan Closes Out Win

Posted Jul. 12, 2009 7:56 pm by Jim Callis
Filed under: At The Ballpark, Futures Game

The U.S. got the go-ahead run to the plate in the bottom of the seventh, but J.C. Sulbaran (Reds) ultimately held on for a 7-5 World victory. Working with a 90-92 mph fastball, Sulbaran easily retired Daryl Jones (Cardinals) on a foulout and Jason Castro (Astros) on a pop to center. He walked Mike Stanton (Marlins) and Danny Espinosa (Nationals) to add some drama, and then Jemile Weeks (Athletics) tried to redeem for his error in the top of the seventh by smashing a liner to deep center. Tyson Gillies (Mariners), who moved to center for the seventh, went back and caught it to end the game.

I still can't take Mike Stanton as a real prospect, after living with our Mike Stanton

"Our" Mike Stanton had a 19 year major league career. Let's see how long the real prospect lasts.
