Ghiaciuc says Chad is a distraction

FORMER BENGAL TALKS ABOUT OCHOCINCO-FUELED DISTRACTIONS
Posted by Mike Florio on June 3, 2009, 8:17 a.m. EDT
Center Eric Ghiaciuc left the Cincinnati Bengals via free agency, landing with the Chiefs.

And Ghiaciuc recently told his new team’s official web site that a certain player on the Bengals often is disruptive.

“As much as you try to focus on football with your day-to-day routine of meetings, lifting, walkthroughs, practices, games, you can focus but it’s still there,” Ghiaciuc said. “It’s like when you turn your head, it’s still behind you. I think we were doing our best to focus on what needed to be focused on in our profession, but it was there and it was a bit of a problem.”

That’s different from what we’ve previously heard about the receiver formerly known as Chad Johnson.

Sure, the guy is a distraction. But the most of the players have gotten numb to his antics.

Then again, a guy in prison can get used to the food — and then complain about it once he’s on the outside.

So maybe it’s good that Ochocinco is spending the voluntary portion of the offseason workouts away from guys who might be much happier not having to deal with him.

They need to just trade him and move on. He's a cancer, how many people have to say it before they finally do something?

This makes Ghiaciuc's play make more sense--maybe he figured that by lying flat on his back after snapping the ball he wouldn't "distract" the quarterback.

Dang it! I can't believe it took someone 38 minutes to point this out before I had a chance to say it myself.

I should have skipped lunch today.

I say Guy-Check is only slightly more effective than a turnstile.

That guy is really calling someone else a distraction? Having a center who couldn't block my 91 year old great grandmother is a distraction, especially when you're the QB.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I agree that Ghiaciuc stunk. I also agree with the above comment.

Read on CNNSI and posted for your consumption.

What seemed to be Chad Ochocinco week on the NFL Network wrapped up Friday with a blunt admission from the Bengals wide receiver about his performance last season. "I'm not even going to lie to you, I'm going to say it. Last year, the offseason, I didn't lift one weight, I didn't run one route, I didn't exercise. I didn't do nothing because my focus was on getting out of a situation I didn't want to be in. I'm not going to lie," Ochocinco said.

Chadetta, he's like the octo mom Nadya Suleman, knows she made a mistake and decides to have more, he's so camera hungry. I cant wait for Hard knocks, some part of me wishes the Bengals had never agreed to do it and on the other hand I feel the Bengals deserve what ever BS Chadetta dishes out on film.

When it's all said and done, Chad will lead the Bengals in receiving yards this season.

That's something that cannot be replaced.
