I wasn't enamored of the Tyler Cline selection, but I have to say that he has been remarkable this year. In five starts in the GCL, his worst has been 6 IP, 2 R. Three of them have been scoreless, including today (6 IP, 1 H). He hasn't had a vast number of Ks, but I'm not going to quibble with a 1.00 ERA and .85 WHIP out of a guy who just turned 19 last month.

Dayton puts up 6 in the 3rd, including HRs by Fellhauer--first as a pro--and Tony Brown. Up 6-1 behind Fairel.

Sean Conner hit 2 HRs for Billings today, in a 5-4 loss. They were shaken, not stirred.

Sweet has used Burton who is going back up to Cincy tomorrow and now Michael Griffin is warming in the pen if the game goes to the 12th.

    Yep, 16 innings last night

Griffin gets a K against his first batter and goes 0-2 to the 2nd guy and then he hit him.

He's got an 89 MPH fastball.

LOL, Griffin with a walk, a HBP, a flyout and 2 Ks in the 12th.

Still tied going to the home half.

Sweet is never going to be a big league manager. Doesn't he know he is supposed to use one of his starters for four or five innings in this situation?
    Just ask Dusty.

    Going to the 13th

Bolivar is pitching and Griffin stays in the game. We lose Barker as a DH.

    BATS WIN!!!

Dorn hit to first and it goes off his glove. Bankston was on 2nd and Sweet sent him home. The first baseman got the ball and threw home and had Bankston by 50 feet but he lost the ball. Bankston bowls him over and comes back to touch the plate.
