Don't know what kind of authority he is, but when I was listening to the Carolina game a few nights ago, the announcer said that Ondrusek (pronounced it On-DREW-suk) was almost released in spring training, then found himself a cut fastball and became "definitely a major-league pitcher." If we're including relievers, yes, he clearly in the picture.

My current top five for 2009, not projections, but just how they're doing this year:

    1. Zach Stewart
    2. Travis Wood
    3. Logan Ondrusek
    4. Luis Machuca
    5. Enerio Del Rosario

    Stewart, Wood, Smith, Fairel, Horst
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

    Not including Leake...

Stewart (though it will be a while till he can log a starter's workload)
Wood (completely unconscious this year -- he needs a promotion)
Sulbaran (interesting development test case for the Reds -- the stuff and head to compete are definitely there)
Maloney (I put stock in excellent AAA performance, and he looked pretty good in his starts for the Reds)
Lecure (flashing well now in AAA, still 25)

    Wood
    Stewart
    Leake (he'll be signed)
    Sulbaran
Lotzkar (numbers were exceptional for his age/level, plenty of time to come back from injury)

The rest won't amount to much, IMO.

I'm not sure why Fairel is not getting more recognition.

Probably because he has a fastball that hits 90 three or four times a game and is in low A.

    1. Leake
    2. Wood
    3. Stewart
    4. Sulbaran

    5T Boxberger
    5T Fairel

I like Stewart, but his K numbers (less than one per IP) keep me from rating him as high as everyone else.
