Doug first let me first say thanks for all the hard work and info. Now my question how crazy am I Cuckoo's Nest crazy or Courtney Love crazy? Might Travis Wood become a Mark Buehrle type pitcher? Buehrle does not top out above 90 on his fastball either. Wood not have enough movement or what?
Never seen the kid pitch so looking for the pie in the sky you know!!

I'm not aswering for Doug, but me thinks the difference between the two pitchers is quite obvious:

    Career MiLB

    Mark Buehrle - 1.4 BB/G

    Travis Wood - 3.9 BB/G
"On-base percentage is great if you can score runs and do something with that on-base percentage," Baker said. "Clogging up the bases isn't that great to me."

Woods BB/9 has been better this year though.

Yea I thought he improved his control which has led to his dominance this year.

Wood's control this year has been the key to his performance. It will be interesting if he can maintain that control at AAA and then in the majors. Wood's walk rate this season to this point is: 2.8/9 IP. If he can maintain this type of control he could be a very effective starter for the Reds. I'm going out on a limb and saying it's not an anomaly (and hoping I'm right! !

Tom Glavine walked over 3 per nine innings

Might is a tough word lol. You might be crazy, but you might be spot on. I think its pretty early to make that kind of statement considering where Buerhle is, even before todays game. Wood certainly could be a good starter if the control remains near the same level it has been this year. A plus change up goes a long way from a lefty.

I talked to a scout last year who described it as the best change up in baseball that wasn't thrown by Cole Hamels. Take that for what its worth.

That's not what was said, so I am going to guess that its not what was meant.
