    Re: 7/26/09 Reds vs Cubs

Here is why we don't win. OPS+ is listed ahead of the player.

    90 Chris Dickerson 9
    55 Willy Taveras 8
    168 Joey Votto 3
    106 Brandon Phillips 4
    82 Edwin Encarnacion 5
    144 Jonny Gomes 7
    43 Alex Gonzalez 6
    -100 Craig Tatum 2

So we have two good hitters & one decent hitter in the lineup. Taveras & Gonzo are beyong abyssmal yet they have 558 PAs this year. This is yet another game I won't waste my time watching.

Well, this is novel...9 pitches and counting to start the game for Dickerson's AB. Great job to start the game, imo.

Imagine if you were by far the only professional player on a major league team?

Odds on the Cubs scoring in the bottom of the first? Seems this has been happening alot lately.

    4-3 GO. thru 0.5, 1-0 Reds.

now the Reds have allowed at least 1 run in the 1st inning in every game post-ASB, save for one. Anyone wanna make any predictions here?

I'm making the line 3:1 that the Cubs DO NOT score in the first.

They had a section in the paper today on who bad the Reds pitchers have been in the first. The Reds have a 7.30 ERA in the first inning.
