That slackers ERA is going to skyrocket.
The Sox traded Bullfrog the only player they've got for Shottenhoffen. Four-eyes Shottenhoffen a utility infielder. They've got a whole team of utility infielders.

No wonder Oliveras got moved up. Yorman is playing CF tonight for Billings. Quite a move for a kid who's still 16.

And he singled his first time up.

Wow I wouldnt have expected that. I guess they are pretty happy with his eye and contact rates. Seems like a really big jump.

Is the Pioneer league a step up from the GCL?

Absolutely. Its usually for older, more experienced college guys. Think High A (Sarasota) and Low A (Dayton) as a similar comparison. High Rookie (Billings) and low Rookie (GCL).

Yes. A fairly big step too.

GCL is mostly raw high school kids that have just been drafted or young Latin signees.

Pioneer is mostly second year HS guys or raw college players.

At least how it always seems to me. If Yorman can hold his own in Billings then that is a great sign for his future success.

Gotcha, I always wondered what the difference was between the two.

King Felix was in A Ball at 17. IDK if he was in the pioneer league before that or not though.
