TS, I haven't reviewed this (same caveat, not a lawyer, etc), but I found this overview on IU's website

Call the Indiana Bar Association. They have a referral service and can give you the number of someone who deals with these types of cases in your area.
Personally, I wouldn't move at all now. Since he's going to be a complete ass about it, I'd give him the same attitude in return. His eviction notice means nothing, he is responsible for paying your moving expenses because he's in breach of contract.
I would have no further contact with him on this issue, you tried, and he refused. Get a lawyer immediately, if he has anything to say, he can say it to your attorney.
Edit:
Here it thier contact information. Call them, they might send you to a county bar assoc, but they can help you.

TS,
Again, I am not an Indiana attorney and obviously I can not and am not representing you here, but you've got to trust me, this is what I do. He has no legal argument here and all his posturing is just that.
But some things you will need to do:
(1) offer him rent on time. If he refuses it (which is what I'm guessing he'll do) keep the money aside. I would even open up an account and place the rent money right in there. As I said before, he is going to need to lie to try and evict you and refusing rent and then claiming non-payment is the way most sleazeball LL's go. So you are going to need to be prepared to put the money into the registry with your Answer (again, IF he files with court).
(2) Document everything. If he asks you to mow the lawn, write it down. If he makes threats, write them down. Keep a journal of what he says to you, what he asks you for. For example, I'd jot down that line of his that the "eviction" he gave you was a legal document and that he saw an attorney. He is bullying you.
(3) Stand firm with the "pay my moving expenses" or you are staying. Finding a new place isn't easy and he might be correct in that the law does not require him to pay for your moving expenses. However, he is trying to breach contract. Thus you are in negotiating mode. If he wants you out he has to give you something. That something is paying moving expenses. Otherwise make him take you to court.
(4) Find an Indiana attorney to talk to. Legal Services has offices in every state. You'd have to qualify financially, but even if you do not that might be able to point you to someone good.
(5) If this does end up going to Court, start looking for new place while waiting for trial. Personally, I think you'll win, but you never know with Judges. Plus, it would be a good thing for your defense to be able to quote what other available units are renting for.
My personal view of this is still that you are in right, LL in wrong. If you are prepared to duke it out then stay, do things I outlined above and enjoy pissing dude off. But take precautions and stay on top of things!

What sucks is that we found a bigger place for cheaper. If push comes to shove, I'm not really wanting to wait it out in this house. If we did this, we'd most likely lose out on this new house that we found.... but I can always bluff.
