The Reds 40 man roster is full. There looks like the Reds could create 3 or 4 40 man roster spots if needed by moving some players to 60 day dl. What moves would you make? What players need protecting in Decembers Rule V draft?

Richar, Volquez, Lincoln, Bray can all be moved to 60 day, althought Jocketty doesn't want to move Bray. Bruce also may be able to be moved there. Lehr and Wells are expendable

60 day DL would mean he couldn't play until mid-Sept at the soonest and it's very possible he could be back by the end of August. I think he'll want to play.

I think that's why he said "may" instead of "can". It's a possible choice, but not as likely.

Why is Kip Wells on this roster?

I'd say that Lehr and Wells are on the roster to eat up some innings that will not then have to be thrown by the guys we're going to have to count on next year--beginning with Arroyo and Harang, the unmovable objects.
