    NoHo the National

    Along with Daryle Ward:

The Nationals acquired former major leaguers Daryle Ward and Norris Hopper from the White Sox today, according to Bill Ladson of MLB.com. The players go from Chicago's Triple A team to Washington's.
Ward, 34, played 11 big league seasons, most recently with last year's Cubs. Hopper, 30, spent parts of three seasons with the Reds, but hasn't appeared in the majors this year.

Wow, even with JimBo out in DC and all. I suppose old habits die hard.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Though I'm sure Bowden's stamp on the organization will be felt for a while, this seems to me like nothing more than organizational fodder.

A few weeks ago we sent him there for Corky Miller, to have an extra catcher in the minors. (Some people even thought we gave up too much for Corky, but that was before we knew Hernandez was hurt. I'm guessing the move was made with Ramon's injury in mind.)

Not sure why Bowden felt like he could win in Washington D.C. with the same players he couldn't win with in Cincinnati. Now he's gone but his theory lives on in the nation's capital.

I'm actually hitting a Natinals game in a few weeks and I'll be rocking my Reds jersey. It's too bad Leatherpants got the axe or I might have been signed to a contract on the spot.
    Hope isn't a strategy
