Marty and Fay (in booth) say there is no way the Reds take the 8.5M option on Ramon next season. They'll find a back-up for Hanigan.

    Zito sets them down 1-2-3.

On to the bottom of the 3rd all tied 1-1.

Good play by Phillips to start a 4-6 FC.

    Rolen: Concussion-like symptoms.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Hopefully they'll find somebody for Hanigan to be a backup to. His OPS is at .737 and dropping daily.

Rolen was scratched with concussion symptons. Does not sound good that he is still suffering the after effects.

Rolen scratched because of concussion like symptoms. Will be examined in Cincy. Jeff says it is from getting hit in the head.

Taveras-Gonzo are commonly referred to here as the worst 1-2 punch in baseball. I went through all of last nights games to see who was worst and it wasn't even close. Combined averages, Taveras-Gonzo are at .436. Second worse are the Royals at .504 with DeJesus/Josh Anderson. Taveras-Gonzo have 4 combined HRs, I highly doubt that factors in much. So yes, we have by far the worst 1-2 punch in baseball.
