Most people should see it. Not as confident as you that the FO does though. It certainly wouldn't surprise me if they still see Stubbs as the CF of the future and Heisey gets dealt. Or they go the cheap route and put Heisey in LF.

    That's what I'm afraid of.

Can you imagine if the 5 OFs on next year's major league roster are Taveras, Stubbs, Heisey, Dickerson, and Bruce? That would strike fear into the hearts of opponents!

Bruce, Stubbs/Dickerson, Heisey is a pretty good defensive OF. Definitely lacks punch though.

It's alright though as long as you have "8 good hitters" in the lineup.

it's going off the original topic a bit, but I see Wlad as a major part of next year's OF, in fact, I think the Reds FO sees him as the starting LF.

So do I. All the more reason why one of Stubbs/Heisey has to go in order to help fill other holes.

    JJ Hardy anyone?

They may see him that way, who knows.

I'm still skeptical. Big guy, big swing. I think there may be some weaknesses there, and once we gets around the league, he may be exposed. Time will tell.

I never said it was a good choice, just one I think the Reds have already made. They wanted him for a reason.

    His name is Bill Bavasi.

(FWIW, this is one time I agree with Bavasi.)

I just hope Jamie Quirk doesn't provide a wish list this time around.

He came relatively cheap and he has some upside. But I really doubt they're counting on him to be a starter in 2010 without seeing what they've got.

Same guys that were counting on Willy T to be a starter in 2009 and 2010 are making the decisions still. I don't doubt anything with them.

Is Heisey really outperforming Stubbs in AAA? I mean honestly?

Stubbs has a fairly sizable advantage in OBP and his K/BB is also quite a bit better. Heisey has more power. His average is slightly better. Stubbs is holding an advantage in OBP, plate discipline, base running and defense. That certainly doesn't scream 'running laps' around him. Heck, that doesn't even sound like he is ahead of him.
