I met a couple who had the last name of Dickinher, spelled exactly like that.

I know sisters named Ivy and Leafy, there last name is Plant.

I know someone whose name is Melissa Sharts. That makes me laugh.

I also know a Kelly Kelly, not sure what her middle name is.

Re: Names people give their kids

There was a customer at work earlier this week who emailed me a quote request and then called into our office the next day for more information. I had to fight not to laugh as I spoke with him on the phone because his last name is Horr and its pronounced exactly like you'd think. If he's married I feel really bad for his wife, Mrs. Horr, LOL

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

I grew up with a kid named Harry Butts. His real name was Henry and I can't for the life of me understand why he chose to go by Harry! His father was named Richard and mercifully used his actual name.

And who can forget Cincinnati's own Mister Simpson?

    See Snopes.
There are characters in Dan Jenkins' book "You Gotta Play Hurt" from 1993 named Orangejello and Limejello (pronounced Le-MON-ge-lo instead of LIME-ge-lo, which I think is great) Tucker. Ever since then, I've heard at least a dozen people say they knew someone with those names and it always made me look at them a little sideways.

I knew a guy named Mister Love. That has to give the ladies certain expectations.

My wife had a child in her room whose name was pronounced Kayla nothing too wierd about that, except that it was spelled K'la. Her and another teacher took about 10 minutes sounding like Klingons before they finally had there Ohhhh moment.

The little girl is now grown into an adult; but 20+ years ago some friends of mine named their little girl so her initials were A.S.S.

I always said to myself "that could be trouble later on."

My Father worked Special Duty at Children's hospital here in Columbus when a mother brings in her sick child. My father calms her down and asks what the boy's name was: Sh***head (pronounced Sh|th - edd) Ouch.

I also went to high school with a Sharon Cox.
    Witty signature.

My college roommate went to his first day of class. The professor called roll and one of the other students was named Alfrica. The professor tentatively called her name as "Al-FREE-ka?"

A young lady pipes up, "It's pronounced AFRICA - the "L" is silent."
