    Names people give their kids

I went to school with a girl named Terra Bulle. Unfortunate, no?

I also knew a girl named Shelby Fair. That's not so bad until you find out that her full given name is Shelby County Fair, and her parents named her that because that's where she was conceived.

What horrible names have the rest of you heard (of course we all know about the stupidity of celebrities, they shouldn't count in this conversation)?
My dad got to enjoy 3 Reds World Championships by the time he was my age. So far, I've only gotten to enjoy one. Step it up Redlegs!

Most of the ones that make me laugh are unsuitable for an all-ages message board, but my sister-in-law was a social services case worker who encountered kids with such first names as Marioandretti and Alpacino.

There is also, of course, the urban legend of the lady who brought her new baby home and announced that she was namong her baby after "a beautiful word I heard in the hospital". Her daughter's name- Placenta...

My wife knew two kids whose names were Soda Popp and Tootsy Popp. I'm not making that up.

My brother the Judge was born on Christmas Day. If he had been a girl, Mom always said she would have named her "Mary Chris Metz.

I've met a Barbara Doll before.

My employer has a lot of international folks on the payroll. My favorite last name: Dogdu.

Edit: When my wife was pregnant with our kid, we got a girl's name pretty quickly. The boy name, though, was more of a challenge. The problem is that my wife liked the idea of naming a boy after both of our dads. I immediately shot that down and gave her time to work through the rationale. She couldn't connect the dots, so I had to do it for her. Our dads are named Richard and Jack.

    Fortunately, we had a girl.

Everyone knows someone who knew someone named Orangello or Lemonjello or the twins, Orangello and Lemonjello, or the girl Placenta Marie...the list goes on.

    Hey Sundeck:

My alma mater has a kid from Haiti who's a redshirt sophomore linebacker for the upcoming season. Here's his bio.

Yes, except I actually met this kid and he's not an urban legend.

In 8th grade I somehow got sucked into working the 7th grade orientation day before the school year started. My job was passing out schedules. We were looking at the names on the schedules for the silliest ones, the winner (don't remember the last name but this was the first and middle) was Ikentina Turner.

Holy smokes -- I could write a book on this subject from my work experience.

Just as a few who I have personally "met" through work:

    A girl named Shanda Leer
    A father named Lovely Boner
An infant child named Alpacino (one word first name, forgot the last name)
    A girl named Sylver Gunn
    About a half dozen "Female"'s (pronounced: Feh-mahl-eh)
    Sisters named Arabia and Arabian
A guy/girl (forget, just remember doing the paperwork) named Quuaasshhaarraa (forget the last name, but it was something like Thompson or Jackson)
    A girl named Uhighness
    A guy named SirMaster
A guy named Mycdanglo (pronounced: Mike DeAngelo)

I could actually go on and on with this subject.

I'll bet your brother sees a lot of great names. Court is an endless stream of unintentional comedy with stuff like that.
