Sarasota is down 8-4 in the 6th. Steve Otterness came in with 2 outs in the 5th with 2 runners on in a tie game. He allowed both to score and then two of his own.

Error on Cisco on a tough play. He looked good getting to it but had trouble getting the ball out of his glove. This one might be reconsidered.

Not an error in my eyes, but it was a ball he should have let Valaika get.

One thing is for sure, if pitchers think they want to challenge Cisco, they are making a HUGE mistake.

I turned the broadcast on for a bit. I cracked up when I heard the Casper team is called the Ghosts.

Dayton scored 4 in the bottom of the ninth to win 5-4. Game-winning hit was a 2-run double by Humberto Sosa.

Billings lost both games of a double header. 3-2 and 3-1. Yorman went a combined 0-7.

Cisco = Vlad? I mean, with his low walk rate and swinging (and hitting) everything that isn't directly under his hands.

Just seems like a fair comparison (obviously Vlad was a stud in the majors and Cisco is still just a kid...but you know what I mean).

I would lean more towards Sandoval than Vlad. In fact I just read a really good article in SI on the Giants third baseman and his hitting approach. He basically stated that he likes to swing at everything because he feels he can hit everything. Comes from when he was little growing up poor and playing ball they often had to improvise and use other objects as the baseball and a stick as the bat. He learned he could hit whatever his brother threw at him and hit it well. He's tried to be patient at the plate but his hitting zone is so big and he feels he can hit anything.

Could be why some Latin ballplayers are free swingers.

Carlos Lee is what Juan will be if he can figure out how to take more balls or strike out less.
