He uses the whole field, but my guess would be if its on the infield its likely to be pulled.

I was very surprised to see them put the shift on. He has not pulled everything. You are right, he has at least a couple of hits to left center.

Alex Buchholz clears the bases with a double and Sarasota pulls one out with four in the ninth, 5-4.

Aguido Gonzalez gets the wins with 3.1 innings of one-hit relief.

    Denove now 3 for 4

BTW, Baez replaced Wood for the bottom of the 8th. He got himself into and out of trouble with a DP ball

    Code:
Player	IP	H	R	ER	BB	SO	HR	ERA
    Baez 1.0	1	0	0	2	0	0	4.40
    Ondrusek will pitch the 9th

I think Denove is a sleeper. Maybe another Hanigan. Probably not until late 2010 though. What's the scoop on his defense?
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Strangely enough, I have no opinion about his defense. I guess that means it's OK. Nothing that stands out.

2nd best story on the Bats after JF is that Valaika is starting to hit his way back into being in the mix.

Yorman Rodriguez was 2-4 with his 3rd homerun of the season.
    Billings lost 9-2.

Talked with a scout tonight who was surprised he was not only still around, but in AAA and hitting.

Nice to see Wood continuing to strike batters out at a decent clip.

Fwiw, Denove was in the Futures Game, so the Reds probably think at least something positive about him.
