    Wagner wants option declined

Billy Wagner has a no trade clause and will only waive it if Boston agrees to decline the option for next season (he wants to be a closer not a setup man).

Boston made a claim on Wanger when the Mets placed him on waivers

The Mets now have 3 options now
1st pull Billy back off waivers and keep him
2nd work out a trade with Boston
3rd Give Wagner to Boston for nothing (Boston being on the hook for his pay this season)

Are the Mets allowed to do option #3 if Wagner will not waive his no trade clause?

I remember when Wagner went to NY, he said he wanted to leave Philly and go to a "winner". How'd that work out bill?
