Wed August 26 - Minor League Updates

    Bats @ Hens

    Bolivar RF .246
    Heisey CF .275
    Frazier 2B .286
    Francisco DH .356
    Bankston 1B .256
    Ford LF .000
    Valaika SS .224
    Denove C .315
    Eymann 3B .188

    LeCure P

Start is delayed by rain. Pitching for the Hens is dreaded Bats killer, Nate Bump.

The GCL boys had lightning stop their double header against the Rays. No word on if they actually completed anything today.

A look at Toledo radar shows that this game should be able to be played. Likely another ~ hour wait though. If it is not played, it will not be made up and the Bats' magic number drops from 4 to 3.

Toledo's video feed is now showing the Bugs Bunny classic, "Gone Batty"

Nah, the lightning stopped the first game a few weeks ago. Today the game is to be resumed, but it looks like no one has gotten around to posting the box scores from todays games.

I hadn't counted before but the Bats 24-man roster now has 14 guys called up from Carolina. Plus Lew Ford. 7 of the 14 are pitchers.

    Gotta like Alexander Smit's start tonight in Carolina: 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 6 K.

The Mudcats lead 1-0 in the 8th.

Sarasota loses 3-2 on a leadoff HR in the 9th. Good start for Matt Fairel: 7 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 5 K. Two hits each for Buchholz and Soto. Triple for Sappelt.

Carolina blows it in the 9th, 2-1. That's been a recurring theme in the Reds' system lately, Louisville aside.

Hotchkiss is finished for the night: 6 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 4 K. He has been outstanding as a starter. But Dayton trails 2-1 after 7.

After a very very rough start for Fleury... 18 K's in his first 60 ab's with a .167 BA...

    He has hit .333 with 2 HR's 5 RBI's and only 0 K's in his last 24 AB
