Thur August 27 - Minor League Updates

What an spectacular last start of the season for Tyler Cline...

7.0 Inn 2 Hits 0 Runs 1 BB 3 K's Lowering his ERA to 2.09 on the season...

I wouldn't be suprised to see him starting in Dayton at some point next year...

GCL is up 7-0 in the 8th...

4 of those runs came on a Grand Slam by 3B Henry Rodriguez... his first of the year...

GCL has a number of pitchers at 19 years old. I hope the Reds keep them all in short-season ball next year, at the Billings level.

If they want to push some minor leaguers, push the older ones. Let these 19 year old guys pitch short season at age 20 and then move them up.

Cline's only bad start of the season was his previous one. He made up for that, big-time.

Henry Rodriguez is having quite a season. It's hard to see a 150-pound third baseman making a mark, but give the guy credit for what he's done so far.

    They won, 7-2.

They have food and weights down there, don't they? He's just 19. Plenty of time to fill out. The 5' 10" frame could hold more than 150.

Cline is the only one I'd push to Dayton. He's already pitched two years in the GCL, albeit a short one last year

not me. 20 isn't too old for the Pioneer league.

I'd like to see a lot of them in Dayton to start the season, particularly Cline. 20 isn't all that young for low A and it would show us how much they think of these arms. (Of course, I'm also fine if they decide to be safer than sorry.)

Dayton takes a 1-0 lead on a sac fly by Cody Puckett that plated Kevyn Feiner.

Louisville down 1-0 in the 1st. Lecure gave up 3 hits in the first. He wasn't fooling these guys.
