Wes Hodges of the Clippers singles in two more. The Bats are now down 4 - 0. Wood is not sharp tonight.

The GCL Reds lost, 5-4, with an interesting array of pitchers. Dallas Buck started and pitched two innings, giving up two runs on five hits but fanning five. Misael DeJesus followed for two innings, giving up two runs on three hits. The Italian lefty, Matteo Pizziconi, took the loss with an inning in which he gave up an unearned run but no hits (two walks). Then scoreless, hitless innings were turned in consecutively by Reinaldo Albino--a thin lefty from Colombia making his first appearance of the season--and teenagers Nathan Driessen (Australia) and Mitchell Clarke (Canada).

    Sarasota's playing two. Lost the first, 1-0 in 10 innings, in spite of a great start by Travis Webb: 6 !P, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K.

Losing the second, 1-0 after four.

It's just brutal following these teams. Billings is now down 5-1. Carolina's down 7-1. Sarasota lost the second game 3-0, shut out for the doubleheader.

Dayton did hold on, 10-6. Oliveras finished 4 for 5 with two doubles, raising his average to .333. Puckett and Brown had three hits apiece. Scott Gaffney and Donnie Joseph pitched scoreless ball over the final three innings.

I never really pay attention to final scores. I couldn't tell you which of our teams were good or bad. I click straight on Box Score to see individual stats

Why is Ford playing over Dorn?
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
