Cops: Man steals woman’s car on 1st date
Dinner goes from bad to worse when he first skips out on restaurant bill

FERNDALE, Michigan - A first date went from bad to worse when a man skipped out on the restaurant bill, then stole his date's car, police said.

Police say 23-year-old Terrance Dejuan McCoy had dinner with a woman April 24 at Buffalo Wild Wings in the Detroit suburb of Ferndale. The woman said the two met a week earlier at a Detroit casino and she knew McCoy only as "Chris."

The woman told police that McCoy said he left his wallet in her car and asked for keys. He then sped away in the 2000 Chevrolet Impala.

The Daily Tribune of Royal Oak reported that police identified McCoy by a photo he'd sent to the woman's cell phone, and his phone number.

McCoy was charged with unlawfully taking the car, a five-year felony. He waived a preliminary exam and was bound over for trial Thursday.

That's how smart this dude is. Not only did he get her car but he also skipped out on a big bill and got a free meal. She probably got stuck with a big $12 bill.

It is like pulling teeth to get my wife to go there. Usually my first choice for guys night out since I so rarely get to go.

The one up here has table service with waitstaff, rather than others I've seen where you order and pay first, and then the food's delivered to your table.

I'm guessing it was like the one up here, unless they ordered, hadn't paid, and he used the "left my wallet in the car, can I borrow your keys" ruse to make off with her sweet, sweet ride.

I'm sure it was a wait staff one, but man it would be hilarious if it was the other way.

That means the date would have gone:
1. She picks him up
2. She drives him crazy in the car with some type of conversation while he thinks of ways to get out of the date
3. They walk up and order he says he forgets wallet
4. He steals car leaving her at BW3s with no car or money

That's how it used to be for me too. She was fine to go there for drinks after tennis, etc, but never wanted to eat there. She doesn't mind sports bars & the like at all, but she had some substandard wings there once and it's been a struggle ever since! Then she discovered the buffalo style flatbread (I think that;s what it is called) and we went there again last night!

As a very side note : For some reason I have a great career success rate on the crane machine game there. It must be "grippier" than most of them, because my daughter has several stuffed animals from that game, including a stuffed Brutus from last night
