Art Show @ Habenero's in Clifton

My oldest daughter, as some of you may recall, is an illustrator. Last night, with the help of my wife and son, she hung her first solo art show at Habenero's restaurant in Clifton. If you happen to drop in for a bite to eat, the artwork you'll have the pleasure of seeing is her's. We're pretty excited. She's had some things in some gallery shows, mostly at the Kennedy Heights Arts Center (where she sold all there pieces), but this is the first featuring just her work.

So come by and enjoy some good food and some good art. It should be up for a few weeks.

For those that don't know, Habenero is the best burrito joint in Cincinnati.

And I say that as a man who consumes WAY too many burritos.

That's great. I'll check it out. My friends, family, and I frequent Habanero's quite a bit. My cousin just quit his job there, actually, to pursue a career in film-making.

Anyway, the burritos are good (although I prefer the Comet's), but there's no place I'd rather have chips. They also have a very nice staff and great beers on tap.

Funny story about Habenero's. There's a guy who works that I've told him he resembles David Crosby when he was younger and played in the Byrds. Has the type of moustache that Crosby had actually later when in CS&N, but still he's always reminded me of him. I saw him in Northside last week as my wife and I went into Melt. He came over and said he had to tell me a story. Seems David Crosby and Graham Nash had been in town for a concert and were going to see a flick at the Esquire (maybe the Woodstock film?). Anyway he said he walked by them and Crosby pointed to his own moustache, pointed at him and gave him the thumbs up. He stopped and told Crosby what I'd always told him and Crosby laughed and said he guessed he did. We were flabbergasted.

My brother-in-law and I just went up to see the show. He was bringing me a piece I bought from the Kennedy Heights Arts Center and we figured we'd check it out. It's a good looking show (even without being a biased observer).

I forgot to mention, the title of the show is Pastels & Peppers.

I'm right there with you CE. One of the hardest things about moving away from Cincinnati is that I don't get enough of that place. And I live in Bloomington, with the danged Laughing Planet and about a jillion other burrito joints. But none of them have the Chupacabra.

Oh, and way to go Redsmetz- that's way cool!
