I love it!
That was great!
It would never make it in the NFL but it has a chance on Broadway.
That is really funny.
"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search
An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”
waiting for baseball to kill these type of celebrations.
"My mission is to be the ray of hope, the guy who stands out there on that beautiful field and owns up to his mistakes and lets people know it's never completely hopeless, no matter how bad it seems at the time. I have a platform and a message, and now I go to bed at night, sober and happy, praying I can be a good messenger." -Josh Hamilton
I agree it was a fun and different take on it, but it was too planned and contrived to warrant the tag "greatest." I'll take really spontaneous celebration any day of the week. High marks for creativity though and he did nail the landing.

That was a huge homer. It moved the Brewcrew withing 4 games of .500!
If ya think about it, shouldn't they have planned something even better given the magnitude?
"This isn’t stats vs scouts - this is stats and scouts working together, building an organization that blends the best of both worlds. This is the blueprint for how a baseball organization should be run. And, whether the baseball men of the 20th century like it or not, this is where baseball is going."---Dave Cameron, U.S.S. Mariner
Okay, I also loved the originality of the celebration--but I still do not understand the need to un-tuck one's uniform while rounding the bases?
...and I don't want to hear that a properly worn jersey prevents you from "truly enjoying" the home plate celebration experience.
Sadly, that will only lead to more unwanted celebrations.
"Reality tells us there are no guarantees. Except that some day Jon Lester will be on that list of 100-game winners." - Peter Gammons
Excellent point....
He's a big guy and the game was over so he felt the need to untuck his uniform.
As for the celebration, I hope they don't do it again. It would take away from that one if they repeated it. Who was it a few years ago that was whining about the Reds doing "the bounce" at home after a walkoff? LaRussa or Dusty?
What about when Freel drop kicked Janish? I thought that was the greatest
whatever...i hate Fielder AND the Brewers....er, I mean "brew crew"(sorry George)
