And at least 15 of those players are no longer in the organization

One plus player - Joey Votto
One potential plus pitcher - Homer Bailey
One CF to 4th OF type - Chris Dickerson
One backup C type - Craig Tatum
    One enigma - Edwin Encarnacion
One MLB reliever - Todd Coffey.

Sure the list isn't great, but it is far from being barren. And granted it is a combination of a couple of draft classes, but it sure would be nice if the Reds could produce a Joey Votto type player every 2-3 years. Especially coming out of the second round.

With everyone on the list making their debut with the Reds, it leads me to guess that the Reds guessed right. Aside from Coffey and maybe EE, the Reds got the most each player would produce in the Majors to date.

What strikes me about the most recent top 40 is the number of prospects the Reds can afford to trade that will still be wanted by other teams.

    The Pitching list looks attrocious.

One could argue that Brian Shackelford has had the best career of the pitchers from the first list.

I thought BJ would be good too. He really had some holes in his swing though.

I also always like Cleveland Ladell and Motorboat Jones...so that shows you what I know.
