I noticed as Ken Griffey Jr was coming to the plate tonight that the guy's hitting .214. He's started in a little over half the M's games and he's played the field for all of 83 innings this entire year.
This is what's left of "the kid".
How much longer does this go on? Do you think he comes back next year? At what point does it tarnish what he's accomplished?
I think it's sad to see such a great player look this overmatched on a baseball field.
I am old enough to remember Willie Mays as a Met and this is beginning to remind me of that.
Hang it up Jr and we'll look forward to hearing your speech in Cooperstown in 5 yrs.
