Nix PH'ing now.
Nix PH'ing now.
Nix pinch hitting. Maybe???
We need to sweep this series.
DP ball. I didn't care for Nix ph'ing there. Yeah he hit a dinger yesterday, but he's been mired in a horrific slump of late.
Barker the last chance.
Finally a time in the game when it might make sense to bunt and Dusty lets Nix hit in to a double play...
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
The dream of .500 is no more. /tears

Ball game. Great road trip though. 5-1.
Unfortunately, that finishes the slim hope of .500.
Well the Reds had great faith in themselves. I logged on to Twitter right as the game ended, and whoever tweats for the had already sent a note saying we'd loss. Sheesh.

Valverde threw him a hanger.....meatball on 1 and 0.....and the usually free swinging Nix does the exact opposite of what i expected. He took it.
Well, I do. We've seen enough of Rosales to know that he's not a fielding genius or a strong hitter of MLB pitching. We need to see more of Francisco. Same with McDonald. He must have pictures of Dusty with...something. He also must have pictures of Walt and Cast too. This one just mystifies me. I know he's had 11 hits in his last ten games, but he's struck out 13 times and he feasts on poor pitching. He's herion to guys like Baker. Just can't get enough of those light hitting, speedy players.
Agree. Too much of the offense sitting on the bench.
Then again if there would have been batters in front of Votto and Phillips all season that could get on base, the Reds might have won some of those one and two run games that they lost, they might have won 8-9 more games and actually been a .500 team. They have a very fine batter in Votto batting third, and no one in front of him getting on base most of the season.
