    Cubs eliminated again

It happened again. With the Rockies win last night, the Cubs were officially eliminated from the playoffs. Even though the Reds stunk this year - again - I still find joy when the Cubs are eliminated each year.

In honor of their dubious achievement:

Major Events that Have Occurred Since the Chicago Cubs Won Their Last World Series
-Both radio and TV were invented…
-Fourteen teams were added to Major League Baseball…
    -George Burns celebrated his 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th, 70th, 80th, 90th –and 100th birthdays…
    -Haley’s comet passed Earth,….twice …
-Harry Caray was born, and died…
-The NBA, NHL and NFL were formed, and Chicago teams won championships in each league…
-The US fought in two world wars, the Korean War, Vietnam War and 2 Persian Gulf Wars
    -Man landed on the moon…
    -Sixteen US presidents were elected…
-Eleven amendments added to the Constitution…
    -Prohibition was created and repealed…
-The Titanic was built, set sail, sank, and was re discovered…
-Wrigley Field was built and becomes the oldest park in the National League…
-Flag poles were erected on Wrigley Field roof to hold all of the team’s future World Series pennants, which have since rusted and been taken down…
-A combination of 42 Summer and Winter Olympics have been held…
-Thirteen baseball players have won the Triple Crown…
-Swing music, bell-bottoms, and disco came in style, went out of style and came back in style…
-The Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox and Florida Marlins have all won the World Series; what next, the Expos?!?
-Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, Oklahoma and New Mexico were admitted to the Union…
The Rally Onion wants 150 fans before Opening Day.

"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

What if this wasn't a rhetorical question?

All models are wrong. Some of them are useful.

I was there live to watch the Rockies lose (), but it happened to eliminate the Cubs, so it was an enjoyable game/result to watch in person

I'm confused. I'd always though they were born like that...like the part about being losers.

    1908:

5 years after the Wright brothers flew at Kitty Hawk.

2 years before Ronald Reagan was born.

21 years before the start of the Great Depression.

56 years before the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

The US Supreme Court Chief Justice at the time (Melville Fuller) had been nominated by President Grover Cleveland. Fuller's replacement, Edward White, took office in December 1910 and was nominated by President Taft.

9 different men have been Pope since the Cubs won a WS.

    No Olympics for Chicago, either.

Chicago 1st of the 4 finalists to go out for the 2016 Olympics.
