Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
Dusty supported the entire staff in the press last week...gotta think this was Walt's doing and wonder how unhappy The Dusty is with it.

If Dusty wanted Pole to remain and was over-ruled, it means that Dusty is on notice, IMO.

This year, I was actually far more disappointed in our hitting than our pitching. I would have thought Jacoby would be the one to be let go.
Here's a thought...with as many young guys, guys coming off of rehab, and veteran reclamation projects as the Red's budget next year will likely require...do they bring back Gullett? He's been out of the game for a few years but surely the mechanics of pitching haven't changed.
