Five realistic options from outside the organization?

Name five players from outside the organzation who you would like to see the Reds acquire. I'm trying to keep this realistic.

    Here's my offseason wishlist:

    J.J. Hardy
    Mike Cameron
    Dioner Navarro/Kelly Shoppach
    Randy Wolf/Brad Penny

I'd also be very happy with Stephen Drew.

    CF/LF Drew Stubbs/Chris Dickerson
    LF/CF Mike Cameron
    RF Jay Bruce
    3B Scott Rolen
    SS J.J. Hardy
    2B Brandon Phillips
    1B Joey Votto
    C Ryan Hanigan/Dioner Navarro/Kelly Shoppach

    Aaron Harang
    Johnny Cueto
    Bronson Arroyo
    Homer Bailey
    Randy Wolf/Brad Penny

That, IMO, is a 90 win team assuming everyone stays relatively healthy and Bruce breaks out.

    Wolf is a Type A, I believe.

    No love for Gomes?

Is that a batting order? Looks like it could be, with Votto being the one glaring exception.

No it's not a batting order.

Hardy is still a guy I'd be interested in.I know that last year he avoided arbitration by signing a one year deal.I didn't notice his name comming up in the non-tender thread even though he isn't under contract.I don't think the Brewers would be in a hurry to sign him or ever offer arbitration considering he was demoted to AAA this year.So could he just be let go or would the Reds have to trade for him?

I would love to get stephen drew, wonder what it would take? Hardy would be my 2nd choice. I would love to see Hernandez brought back cheap or Shoppache. As for pitching I would take a flier on Dave Bush or John Maine as well as signing a Randy Wolfe. My next priority would be a few solid bullpen arms.
My #1 priority however is signing Dave Duncan.

    J.J. Hardy
    Erick Aybar/Maicer Izturis
    Kelly Shoppach
    Grady Sizemore
    B.J. Upton

J.J. Hardy and the Angels shortstop surplus are the best targets I see to fill our shortop weakness. I think Kelly Shoppach is the perfect compliment to Ryan Hannigan. And I think Grady Sizemore and B.J. Upton are the two best players to target as jaded superstars who could put the Reds over the top.

I also like the Dave Bush idea. I'd rather just grab a bargain off of the scrap heap than spending money on guys who aren't much better like Randy Wolf...

I wouldn't be surprised if the Ankiel rumors, although premature, had some substance...

Reid Brignac and Dioner Navarro for a deal involving Burton and Lincoln. TB needs pen help and those two with some AAA options (Carlos Fisher and say Valiaka to replace Brignac as the depth MI guy). The Reds chip in $1.5 Million towards Lincoln's deal.

Burton, Fisher and Valaika for Brignac and Lincoln for Navarro in an exchange of bad contracts that fit the other team's needs better. If the Reds need to pay some of Lincoln's deal, OK. I think that is fair and fits what both teams are looking to do.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

    1. Maicer Izturis
    2. Miguel Olivo
    3. Justin Duchscherer

    And, to make it five,

    4. Reid Brignac (if we don't get Izturis)
    5. Dioner Navarro (if Olivo is a no go)

Duchscherer would be a nice pickup if he can be had at a decent price.

You guys need to set your sights on the Ryan Churches of the world. That's the market in which the Reds will be shopping.

I'm ok with all of this.

Hopefully by moving Cordero's contract, we're able to help the team address other needs, which could make Chris Duncan stomachable as a LF.

And by other needs, I mean a SS.
