    Donald Fehr Severance

Hey where can I get a gig like this? The guy retires and gets 11 times his annual salary as a severance.

Don Fehr gets a severance package
Don Fehr's severance package comes in at about $11 million. He made $1 million a year for the past decade or so, which is way below his worth based on what he does and who he tangles with on a day to day basis. His work has put hundreds of times that amount of money into the pockets of the players he has represented. According to the article, the players had no problem agreeing to pay him his dough.

Nice to see the players have money to burn

Honestly, he was worth more than a million a year, so I don't have a real problem with him cashing in.

Yea, the player's association got a real bargain. The owners tried quite a few times to break their union. Like it or not, under his leadership, the union did great.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

He was grossly underpaid for what he did for the players. He overplayed his hand with his aggressive stance against drug testing, but otherwise did an incredible job.
