1990 Reds Hall of Fame exhibit

That should be cool. I can't wait to check it out next season.

1990 Reds Hall of Fame exhibit

The 1990 Reds went wire-to-wire to claim the club's fifth World Series championship, and the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum will celebrate this remarkable season with a new exhibit in 2010.

The Reds Hall of Fame is reaching out to all of those who watched, participated in, or experienced the 1990 season in some way for their recollections. We especially looking for the unusual or unique artifact to display. If you have something that you think would fit well within the exhibit, please consider loaning it to the Hall of Fame for inclusion.

Also, you can help support the exhibit and get your name in it by donating at https://secure.mlb.com/cin/ballpark/museum/donation.jsp.

If you have any artifacts that you would like to share, please respond by posting a comment within this story at http://redsintern.mlblogs.com/ (not the Facebook page) and I will get in touch with you.

Thank you for helping make "Wire to Wire: A Celebration of the 1990 Cincinnati Reds" the most interesting, entertaining, educational, and interactive exhibit at the Hall to date.

Wow, I really like the giant murals (pic 9 and 10). Very impressive.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Good stuff. I found the caption of the following picture funny... thanks for telling us which number belongs to each of the two players. Never could have figured it out by looking at the picture. :

The caption read... Jerseys of pitchers Jack Armstrong, 40, and Jose Rijo, 27, are on display at the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum.

My wife and I loaned two items to the exhibit; two Christmas ornaments we've had since the World Series win. One is the standard MLB approved glass ornament, the other is one we bought at a craft show showing; a small wreath with Reds and a broom through the middle. We're supposed to get a free membership, so I need to call them to find out how we get that.

Key artifacts displayed in the exhibit include:

    • The last out ball from the 1990 World Series that was caught by first baseman Todd Benzinger along with the glove he used to catch it.
    • Game-worn jerseys from each member of the 1990 Reds.
    • Game-worn World Series jerseys from numerous members of the Reds.
    • World Series rings from Marge Schott, Jack Armstrong and Marty Brennaman
    • The home plate used at Riverfront Stadium during the 1990 regular season.
    • The 1990 World Series trophy.

Okay, I'll give you that. But which one was Armstrong's and which one was Rijo's?

Am I the only one who read this and suddenly feels very old? The 1990 World Series is the subject of a Hall of Fame Exhibit, with artifacts and trinkets from that time period?!?!?! But wasn't that only a few years ago!?

I hear ya. In 1990, the 1970 season seemed like a prehistoric age to me, while today, the 1990 season seems like yesterday. Both are 20-year spans, of course.

Some of those pictures look like they were taken long before 1990. I guess it's because they're black and white, but they look old.

    Edit:

Photo #5 of Charlton is outstanding. The hair, the decor, the fashion. It's all epic.
