I realize that this is only midway through the season, but if I were Cleveland, I would take a page from UK basketball and just cut my losses now with both Mangini and Konokis. I know its one season, but going back to the same failed philosophy of the Belichick family tree really wasn't going to get this team anywhere.

What is worse is that this is a PR move to save face given some of the fans threatening a boycott. Had it not been for that, I doubt anything would have been accomplished.

The owner needs to fire himself. This move just shows how stupid he is. Your team had problems going into this season (and even prior). You hire these two to try and start you on the road to betterment and respectability, and to implement THEIR system changes. Now I'm not saying they are going to succeed (I've given them both a "bye" this season), but you have to give them a chance because it isn't going to happen within the first two months of their initial season.

I read an article on si.com a few weeks ago from Poz saying that Eric Mangini may have been the worst coaching hire ever. It deals with his baggage and also the fact that he was run out of NY and then Cleveland swooped up and hired him.

Konokis was highly thought of from a quality organization (Baltimore). He butted heads with an awful coach, who is a control freak at the same time. Cleveland's problem is they decided to hire Mangini.
