Not entirely. My Steelers are not a Championship caliber team this year, the Bengals still are the class of the division and should win. Pound Cleveland next week and you will not even remember the trip to Oakland.
Nothing to see here. Please disperse.

Really disappointing. I had some hopes up for playoffs success, but I don't now.

I'm gonna blame the refs because its so much easier then actually blaming a single person. Whos with me?

I'm not surprised by this. The stupid mistakes on offense finally caught up to us, and for once a 4th down attempt went the other team's way.

The law of averages caught up to us. We're still winning the division. Still going to the playoffs. Nothing to get too upset about IMO.

Yep - another weak opponent and another key loss, if they repeat this effort. I have faith that they can find a way to blow that one as well..

I don't know beating the Steelers twice and the Ravens twice sure means a lot to this Bengals fan. Being in first place after years of losing means a lot too. Does it suck to lose at Oakland, sure does, but these are the types of losses that can wake teams up. With Cedric back next week I look for the Bengals to get back in gear.

Palmer said about the same thing last Sunday. He said, they might be a playoff team, but right now they won't do much damage unless they get a lot better. I would have to agree with his assessment.

Sorry but i am going to go on the same way I have seen this team react ...in the past...and that is they start pointing fingers and start playing scared.

    Re: Bengals vs Raiders

There has to be an evolution with an organzation has been as bad as the Bengals have been over the past couple of decades. Part of that is getting rid of the culture of losing. That started to happen when Marvin first came in to the organization. It got a little sidetracked the past couple of years, but I think they've really turned the page and have learned to win. Last week's Steelers game was a big indicator of that.

After they've gotten to where they don't expect to lose anymore, the next step in the evolution is learning to handle the hype without buying into it. Today was a clear indication that they need a lot of work in this area. They clearly thought they'd step in a roll over the Raiders. They need to experience a loss like today in order to continue the evolution. I'm not really all that disheartened over it. This is what has to happen.

Watching Caldwell return kicks makes me wish they still had Glenn Holt returning kicks.

I think all those years of losing have warped everyone into a sky is falling mentality. It sucks to lose to Oakland but I'm not ready to give the division to Pitts especially when we are in first place.

Oakland isnt exactly a bad team. The reason they sucked all year was Russel.

They probably score more today if they didn't try to pound the ball on every play.
