anyone know anything about him?
anyone know anything about him?
He wants about $12M per year.
Texas had interest but who knows whether they still do with Harden on board now. But, reportedly Sheets wants to be paid just like his last healthy season (approximately $12M/yr). That's too much for the Reds but someone will buy if the base is low enough.
12 Million?! Has he been given a clean bill of health? Oh and can you imagine Harden and Sheets at the top of a rotation? May or may not get a full season of starts between the two. That also reminds me I can't believe the braves are getting such good press for "re-tooling" their bullpen. Wagner and Saito may be the next coming of the nasty boys or they might not last through May....it's 50-50 I'd say.
I didn't even know Ben Sheets became a stand-up comic.
Just what the Reds need: an injury-prone righthander.
“And when finally they sense that some position cannot be sustained, they do not re-examine their ideas. Instead, they simply change the subject.” Jamie Galbraith
But you have to admit, his "bit" about wanting to be paid $12 million would sure lighten up the clubhouse. It would rival Chris Rock as the best comedy the team has heard in quite some time.
Hey Ben, when your expectations return to the planet Earth, give us a shout! Maybe $4 million with incentives.
Determine how many wins, IP, K rate and WHIP a $12 million dollar pitcher gets.
Then offer him those incentives for that price.
Pitch like a $12 million pitcher. Get paid like a $12 million pitcher.
I have a love-hate relationship with Albert Pujols. Mostly hate.
Nobody is going to offer him that kind of cash until he holds a private workout. So far he has been reluctant to do so.
If you have a losing record at Reds games, please stop going.
I just traded him to the Alfheim Elves for Homey Bailey and Tom Gorzelanny.
Hey, it is an update!

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports hears that the Yankees are "very interested" in Ben Sheets, though they don't believe the righty is in a hurry to sign. When the Yanks met with agent Casey Close at the Winter Meetings, it became apparent that they had some interest in Sheets, in spite of suggestions that he could seek $12MM per season (quite an ambitious target, in my opinion).
Now that the Red Sox have agreed to terms with John Lackey, it may be the Yankees' turn to add a former All Star of their own.
My dad got to enjoy 3 Reds World Championships by the time he was my age. So far, I've only gotten to enjoy one. Step it up Redlegs!
