I went with Donnie Joseph over Mark Serrano. Joseph is a lefty with good velocity and an above average or better slider. In 32.1 innings after signing, Joseph posted a 3.10 ERA and 14 BB/42 K ratio. He's a potential fast mover who could reach the major leagues by late 2010 or early 2011.

Re: Who is Redszone's #19 prospect?

Jordan Smith, Donnie Joseph or Sam Lecure.

Lecure's home run numbers are too high but he had a good year at AAA with a 7.8/2.8 K/BB. His WHIP was 1.30, good for a starter pitching 143 innings. He was pitching as a 25-year old for most of last season.

Smith is a high ranking pitcher who did well at AA but his K rate was below 5 and then he got hurt. Just based on past rankings of BA and his consistent overall performance throughout his career, he's a contender.

Joseph had a good first year, although he had a high walk rate in 20 innings at Dayton. A good lefty reliever has value, hopefully he can become one. He strikes guys out, which is a good thing to do.

I'm probably going to vote for Lecure. Other than his gopher balls, he did well at AAA. If Maloney and Klinker are 11 and 14, I'd put Lecure at 19.

Amazing to me that Large Logan and EDR are getting way less respect than Donnie Joseph.

Logan and Joseph are pretty close in my eyes. My concern with Logan is his lack of a use of anything other than a fastball. In the AFL he threw a fastball 85% of the time and from watching him in AAA it was more of the same during the season. Joseph having a plus breaking ball that he uses often got him as my highest rated reliever. EDR looks like more of a 7th inning guy though, where the other guys could be 8th inning guys.

    Thurman.

Lefty like Joseph. Has put up similar numbers and did it at a higher level.

Had better numbers at Dayton Too.

Matt Fairel. Seems to be overlooked and had the best year of any starter left.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!
