Hawaii officially introduced as a new member of the Mountain West for football and will rejoin the Big West for all other sports.

Well, the Big Ten has now named the two conferences....... Legends and Leaders.

Blech!!!!!!! Some of the people in charge of the Big Ten need to get over themselves.

The question is how long will they last? They are the worst names like this I've ever seen and shows a real inflated view of their own self-importance coming from the conference decision makers. Between this nonsense and Gordon Gee's moronic comments, Big Ten big whigs are looking more foolish by the day.

The names are just awful. I thought it was a joke when my buddy texted me about this earlier.

All of this sounds like it was focus-grouped. Let's just hope that these names go away soon. What are some good alternatives?
    Great Plains - Great Lakes
Really Cold - Even #$#%% Colder
Brats - Metts (I like this one, although it doesn't test well outside of I-275)
    German - Polish
    Paul Bunyan - Johnny Appleseed
    Corn - Soy
    Variatio delectat - Cicero

I like #2 of those names. But because they aren't doing it with traditional "locations" (IE East teams together/Western teams together) the first one doesnt work, but I like the concept too.

"On-base percentage is great if you can score runs and do something with that on-base percentage," Baker said. "Clogging up the bases isn't that great to me."
