    How should we say 2010?

The creator of this site has the answer: http://www.twentynot2000.com/

    Another good read is: http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcont...1.4b9ca67.html

If asked to vote on this, I'm certain I would choose "twenty ten", because I think it rolls out much easier and also follows the pattern described in the first site above. But if I'm honest with myself, I think I've been saying "two thousand ten" all along. Maybe I'll need to retrain myself.

    Twenty Ten.

Fewer syllables to deal with and, as you said, macro, it just rolls off the tongue.

I'm going to say two thousand ten. If someone says twenty-ten it won't bother me. If someone tries to correct me, I'll flip them off and move on with my life.

I noticed last night that I was saying "twenty ten" without thinking about it.

Re: How should we say 2010?

    Twenty ten.

Also, it always bothered me that prior to 2000 (and quite a bit since then) nobody could say 2000 without attaching "the year" to the beginning.

I could care less how someone says a year as long as I understand it. To each their own...

Yep, I was talking about this very thing just the other day. Why is it that people on TV doing documentaries, news reports, or whatever ALWAYS have to put "the year" in front of "2000"?

    Amen. Who cares?

I'd rather listen to Kelch read the phone book than suffer through Thom Brennaman's attempt to make every instance on the field the most important event since the discovery of manned space flight. -westofyou
