Man, this is tough. In deference to position, makeup and all-around game, I'm saying Coddington. Could almost as easily have voted for Ondrusek, Johnson, Thurman, Rodriguez, Serrano, Cline, Gregorius . . .

Question on Gregorius: I'm not seeing it now, but didn't he start out with another organization? That's sort of why I've hedged on him; thinking that somebody gave him up already. Anybody know the story there?

Nope. The Reds signed him in 2007 when he was 17.

Re: Who is Redszone's #26 prospect?

Thanks. Yeah, I sure don't see anything else about him being with another organization. Not sure where I got that idea, although I distinctly recall having that impression.

There's now a little Wikipedia profile on him. Didn't realize that his nickname derives from his father. Or that he played for the Dutch national team after the season (at least, made the preliminary roster).

    Here's the listing:

Shortstop Mariekson Gregorius made his minor league debut in 2008. He is the son of Didi Gregorius and the brother of Johnny Gregorius.

Gregorius signed in 2007 with the Cincinnati Reds. In 2008, he debuted with the GCL Reds and was 1 for 3 on June 24. He only hit .155/.241/.155 for the year and fielded .910. In 2009, he improved significantly, batting .314/.363/.387 for the Billings Mustangs and .254/.274/.310 in 22 games forthe Sarasota Reds. He fielded .927. He was named to the Pioneer League All-Star team at shortstop. He then made the Dutch national team preliminary 33-man roster for the 2009 Baseball World Cup, an event in which his father and brother played for the Netherlands Antilles.

mace, I don't know if this true, but I once heard that he was signed by the Yankees but that his contract was voided for some reason. Perhaps he was only 15 at the time of the original signing or something like that.

Henry Rodriguez continues to get my vote... According to Doug, lightning fast middle infielder who puts the bat on the ball... Sign me up.

That could solve the riddle. Thanks.

I would like to go with Logan Ondrusek here. He was roughed up in the AFL, but his seasons work cancels that out for me without a doubt. Good stuff, great numbers and likely major league ready.

Lotzkar still. Higher ceiling than anyone in the organization. We're not talkin Top 5 here, its #26.

I agree, 11. Almost all the options are potential middle relievers, back-of-the-rotation starters, and bench/utility players. Lotzkar is a potential ace.

I think its a stretch right now to say that about Lotzkar. Mainly because we don't have a clue about his true talent level anymore. After the broken arm and a Tommy John surgery we simply don't know if he has what he used to, or even if he will be allowed to throw his curveball anymore (the Reds talked to him about taking it away after he initially broke his arm pitching.... how about after another broken bone in the arm and surgery?) which was his out pitch.

Re: Who is Redszone's #26 prospect?

I still like Kyle Lotzkar but I have my doubts about him now. He's broken his pitching elbow twice now, plus he underwent Tommy John surgery too. If it was just the Tommy John surgery then I wouldn't be concerned, in fact, I'd probably still have voted for him in the top ten. It's the broken elbow that scares me. That's a very tough injury to overcome. It's a shame too because he had a ton of talent ... I had him pegged in the class of Bailey/Cueto/Volquez type of pitching prospect. I'll be rooting for him but he's got a long road ahead of him.
