Alabama didn't attempt to do a thing on offense until Texas got to within three. Run, run, run, punt. Saban would have kept doing it all the way to the end.
In all fairness, the D didn't give up 37 points.

I thought this would be a great game, it was in some ways, but when one of the key players such as the starting QB goes out for basically the game, then that can change the entire game. I despise injuries in sporting contest, they spoil it.

Hats off to Texas for providing a good game after losing their star QB. But McElroy also was playing injured with cracked ribs he suffered in the Florida game.

Gilbert did an admirable job, but still turned the ball over (4 INTs). Bama's defense stepped up when they had to.

And IMO, you have to be able to run the ball. Texas couldn't, and Bama put up over 200 yds on the #1 run defense.

It might have been a closer game with McCoy, but I still say Bama wins.
