I apologize. I think you took my post out of context...

It was more like, this is interesting signing, reds sign another International player...

    But thanks for trying!

    From Dejan Kovacevic:

#Pirates wrap up Mexican RHP Luis Heredia for franchise-record international bonus $2.6 million

Big time signing by the Pirates. Heredia has significant upside.

    From Ben Badler:

With Heredia signed, expect more top IFAs to get signed in the next few weeks. Odor, de la Cruz, Vazquez, Peguero, Romero still available

    http://twitter.com/BenBadler

The Reds have been one of many teams linked to Odor and Peguero.

If Odor and O'Rear play in the same game together-- that would kinda be cool.

Especially if Odor is following O'Rear around the bases.

    From Ben Badler:

Heard OAK had Rougned Odor in DR academy this month. Could be a sleeper for VZ shortstop. CIN, TOR, possibly NYY involved

Re: 2010 International signing period information

Yesterday Baseball America revealed a list of 2010 International signings by NL Centrals clubs. It's premium info but I found this summary over on the Reds website.

After the Reds signed Cuban Felix Perez last summer, the Reds kinda cooled their jets on Latin signings.....They signed two guys of note, however: 17-year-old shortstop Olivel Florentino from the Dominican Republic. The Reds signed him for $250,000.....He is 6'1", 155 lbs., and a switch-hitter.....Reds also signed 16-year-old outfielder Jonniel Mier y Teran from Venezuela. He is 6'2", 180 lbs.....Also, MLB did an extensive investigation into the age and identity of Yorman Rodriguez. They found everything checked out, and his identity and age were confirmed as correct.....As of now, our 4 top foreign players seem to be Y-Rod, RHP Jonathan Correa, shortstop Junior Arias, and LHP Ismael Guillon....(I'm talking about guys who haven't made it past Dayton yet)....Must also mention Ronald Torreyes. He may be the 2nd best bargain we signed (Cueto signed for only $2,500)....Torreyes signed for only $40,000.....So compare Torreyes at $40,000 to Florentino at $250,000.

Cueto signed for more than $2,500. His bonus was initially reported in a typo. I believe it was somewhere around $35,000.

Re: 2010 International signing period information

Ben Badler - Which teams have signed the most international prospects?

Reds are tied with the Mariners for first.

Reds: Cincinnati spent big money to land Aroldis Chapman, Yorman Rodriguez and Juan Duran, but Reds Latin American scouting director Tony Arias and his staff have found plenty of promising young international players for mid-range prices. Shortstop Junior Arias, lefty Ismael Guillon and righthander Jonathan Correa were all Top 20 prospects in the Arizona League last year.
