Jeremy Horst. Better than some already gone. Mace Thurman is also under-rated, but I'm going with Horst.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

I voted for Henry Rodriguez again. Hopefully he wins so I can move on to voting for Daniel Corcino.

Re: Who is Redszone's #34 prospect?

I voted for Henry Rodriguez this time. I see him as a 2B. Even before he reached the GCL, he spent relatively little time at SS. My hunch is that he could be a good utility infielder.

I am curious about why there has been so little support for Valiquette. BA picked him as Reds prospect #21 last year. He followed up with a solid season and placement on the 40 man roster. The Reds have been very patient with him, so they must see value. IIRC, he throws hard for a LHP. He won't be 23 until February. Is it the consensus of RZ that the farm system is that much deeper?

It's just that so many relievers in the system have been more productive--including guys still on the board, like Mace Thurman and Joe Krebs, who are also lefthanders. And of course, so is Joseph. And Viola. Then, this year, guys like Ondrusek and Del Rosario passed him by. That said, I agree that Valiquette remains an intriguing guy. It speaks to why we can easily take this thing to 50 players and still traffic in prospects.

Signed with the Reds in 2008 out of Azul, Dominican Republic. Turned 19 years old in late August. Struckout 30 batters in 25.2 innings with Billings as an 18-year old. Scouting report from Baseball America: 89-93 mph fastball with sinking and tailing action. One scout rated his fastball as a 60 on the 20-80 scale. A 60 makes it a plus offering. His breaking ball features tight rotation and has plus potential, and he also throws a change that has life but is still a work in progress (hopefully Mario Soto is working with him). He sounds similar to Johnny Cueto and that's why he's one of my breakout candidates in 2010.

Tough decision between H-Rod and Ty Cline. In the end, I went with Tyler Cline.

None of the options stick out to me too much, so I'll just go ahead and get HRod out of the way so we can shut up REDblooded and move on.

What impressed me about him was that he was installed as the Billings closer at the age of 18.

31 votes for Henry Rodriguez with the next closest being Tyler Cline with six votes. Wow. I like what I'm hearing about Rodriguez. He may shoot up this list next year.

BTW, these next two days should be pretty exciting for us prospect followers. Baseball Prospectus will be releasing their top 11 Reds prospects sometime today, plus Fanhouse will be releasing their organizational rankings at some point today, and then tomorrow night MILB.com will release their top 50 prospects on MLB Network at 8:00 PM.
