On the Reds.com roster, players have also been assigned numbers, and most of the new roster additions and non-roster invitees have been given high numbers in the 60's or 70's, except for Castillo (26), Nix (17), and Miller (37) who all played on the team, Burke (16) and ... Yeah, you have to think the players given "real" numbers are the ones they expect to make it to Cincy.

Lots of catchers getting invites. Not sure what this means. Hernandez and Hanigan are locks for this year, and Hanigan seems to be the catcher of the future for the Reds

They always brings alot of catchers to Spring Training because someone has to catch all of those pitchers.

Okay, I get it. So these guys, most of which I've never heard of, don't have much of a chance.

the guy i find most intriguing is Smit. I know everyone says he won't make the team, but why are the Reds calling him up. Another left handed starter in camp. Is he being showcased?

Smit is a surprise I believe. Why he was invited and Klinker can only be because he is a left hander, or perhaps he is being showcased. I am surprised Manz or Coddington are not there if only for a few days. Maybe they will be there unofficially.
