Cabrera should go back to number 9.

Why? I realize the number two has been a curse in years past, but don't you worry about the ghost of Joe Oliver?

Let's just hope he can break the curse of number 2 that has def. plagued the team recently. AND at his position

The Reds have had a lot of number twos at the shortstop position all right.

I think that a "legitimate" baseball uniform number is an indication that he is definitely on the radar, though it is no guarantee that he is likely to make the club. After all, a lot of other outfielders also have low numbers:

    Drew Stubbs (#6)
    Laynce Nix (#17)
    Chris Dickerson (#21)
    Wladimir Balentien (#25)
Jay Bruce (#32 -- usually a pitcher's number, but still a low number)

It is doubtful that all six of these players make the team out of Spring Training.
