Lebron stars in McDonald's Remake of Classic MJ Commercial

McDonald's is remaking the classic commercial with Jordan and Bird playing for a BigMac. It will air before the Super Bowl.

The old one with MJ and LB:

Here's a teaser of the new one, which features Lebron and Dwight Howard:

Dwight Howard? I could beat Dwight Howard in HORSE, provided we make rules about dunking of course.

Yeah, it would have been better with Carmelo or Kobe. Or anyone else who could actually shoot from further out then 8-10 feet.

They need to get Larry and Michael back for a follow up commercial with all 4 of them.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

It should be Kobe vs Shaq in the commercial ending with Kobe says he's going to shoot from the free throw line and Shaq with and o' crap look on his face.

I'm pretty sure Larry is going to be in this one.

Yeah, he can sit up in the stands after they finish and say, "It's been done." like George Harrison did on the Simpsons when the B-Sharps sang on the roof of a building.

That reminded me of an old commercial for the old "NBA Jam" video game where Shaq talks about how basketball would work if he invented the game.

The video quality stinks, but the last line is priceless:

Couldn't they have gotten somebody who could actually shoot the ball? Kobe would have been perfect. Wade would have worked too.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I like the idea of Bird and Jordan in the background yelling "Its been done!!!"

Re: Lebron stars in McDonald's Remake of Classic MJ Commercial

Here's one thing I don't get about basketball. I realize that I'm overgeneralizing and probably being unrealistic, but why don't they just shoot 3-pointers all the time? Their shooting abilities are ridiculous, and I think they should take advantage of that.

If a team makes 46% of 2-point shots (what I figure to be about average), that's worth 0.92 points per shot. If a team makes 33% of 3-point shots (which is a bit below average), that's 0.99 points per shot. If the opposing teams want to send all their defenders to the perimeter, then that should make for some very easy 2-point shots in the paint.

I know it's not that simple, but I really wonder why no one has tried it.

Don Nelson had some Maverick teams that came pretty close.

The Akron Hammer can shoot. He just likes to dunk-- HARD. Unlike Kobe. (although I realize he's one of the best of all time

too, I just don't like him)

while I wont call Lebron that nickname, I feel the national media deflates his ability to shoot. He's only shooting 50.3 fg 35.7 3pt 77.5 ft, with Kobe shooting 46.1, 32.7, and 81.4, respectively. But I know from ESPN that Kobe is a warrior, a gamer, has a killer instinct, the best closer, and wants to win more than anyone. I mean, Lebron isn't playing with a jammed finger or an ankle injury that shows up after a 5pt performance and a loss to the nuggets, but the kid from Akron can shoot the ball

Why not? It's a great nickname. From the best show on ESPN, SportsNation.
