    PROject proJECT: Joey Votto

Let's try not to get too crazy. I don't want to see any ".953 BA, 721 HR, 2294 RBI" projections.

.315, 25 hr, 85 rbi, think the rbi's will be down untill we get a legit leadoff man who can get on base and get into scoring position for him.

.340, 24 hr, 95 rbi. I think he is going to focus on putting the ball in play more than putting it out of the park. But, I will take 24 hrs out of our 3 hitter.

You do realize he had 25 and 84 last season with Taveras taking a good chunk of leadoff AB's and AGon getting plenty out of the 2 hole and playing only 131 games. Our 1-2 will be light years ahead of the catastrophe that was last season's.

Hopefully he'll be hitting with a little more protection behind him and some better OBP ahead of him.

    .309 25 HR, 99 RBIs

I see Joey playing a TON of games this year and as a result he will see a slight increase to his counting stats and a slight decrease to his percentages. All in all, I think last year's Joey Votto will be this year's Joey Votto... and thats a good thing.

Hope your right. We could really make some noise in the central if the guys in front of Votto, Phillips, Rolen, get on base more consistantly than last year. I was also thinkin that the numbers may go down a bit because National league pitchers will be more aware of his talents this year. He will get a pitchers absolute best every plate appearence. But just a bit not a lot.

.320 - .330 Ba, 25 - 30 Hrs, 110 - 125 RBIs, year after year. A veritable rock to build a team around.... Just like the Yanks did around Paul O'Neil.
